200 years ago - a shift in perspective

In 1824 Britain, 200 years ago, a compassionate group of women formed the very first animal rescue. The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals - 50 years before women could even vote! This laid the foundation for a shift in people’s perspective about animals and paved the way for so much good to happen!

As I was reading this captivating history, I was reminded of the specific meanings of Rescue / Shelter / Sanctuary and wanted to share:

  • Animal Rescue: provides rescue and placement of animals into permanent homes

  • Animal Shelter: provides a temporary home for adoptable animals and euthanizes animals that have been deemed unsuitable for adoption

  • Animal Sanctuary: provides a permanent home for unwanted, abused or neglected animals

I love that a small group of women has made such a powerful, long lasting difference for those that cannot speak - I hope you find this as inspiring as I do. YOU can continue this legacy by sponsoring an animal, keep the circle going, the animals thank you.
