Warren the Warrior: Always on Duty

If you’ve ever had the honor of meeting Warren the Warrior Steer, you know: he takes his role as guardian of the pasture seriously. He's not just one of the herd—he's the steady sentinel, the fierce protector, the soul who watches over the land and every creature lucky enough to share it with him.
This week, Warren reminded us all just how deeply he takes that calling to heart.
A small group of new visitors joined us for a tour and stopped to say hello to Warren, Handsome Karl, and Moo Puppy. But something about the moment—perhaps unfamiliar scents or new voices—put Warren on alert. Without hesitation, he stepped forward and positioned his body between the guests and his pasture brothers. Shoulders squared, eyes watchful, Warren silently said: “Not until I know you’re safe.”
Behind him, Karl and Moo Puppy quietly stood, trusting their warrior completely.
It wasn’t long before Warren relaxed, his nose twitching as he took in more of the scene. A softening came over his face, the way it always does when he recognizes peace. The moment passed—but the impact lingered.
To witness this display of instinct and loyalty from a steer often dismissed by the world as “just a farm animal” was nothing short of sacred. Warren reminds us daily that true protectors don’t need words. They just need heart.
And his? It’s massive. Read ALL about Warren here.
