Every animal resident at the Sanctuary has a unique, fitting name.
Did you know the Twins are named after our deceased mother's as a loving tribute?
We KNOW they would have loved the Sanctuary, and on some level are enjoying it from afar.
The lighter Highland Heifer is named Carol (on the right in photo) after Farmer Terry's mother, and the darker Highland Heifer is Henrietta (left in photo), named after Katherine's mother.
It was interesting to find out that the name Henrietta is the female version of Henry, and means Ruler Of The Home, according to babynames.com.
Names do tell a story, and I am so excited to paint Henrietta the Highland Heifer's portrait Friday 4/22 while enjoying friends old and new. There are a few spots left - please join us in honoring both Henrietta's.
